LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS

There are local associations established in all regions of the province which provide the means for foster parents to meet as a group on a regular basis. The participation of foster parents in local associations is crucial to the success of the Provincial Association. Involvement in locals can be a very positive experience for foster families. They can gain support from each other, participate in social events, share ideas, identify areas for change, participate in ongoing education and training, and build partnerships. In keeping with our mandate of building partnerships, Social Workers are actively involved as members of local associations and membership is also open to interested people in the community.
